New Changes in Parallels Plesk Panel 10 |
11-13-2010 |
Parallels Plesk Panel 10 introduces a new hosting model, The Panel can operate in two modes: Shared Hosting (default) and Power User.
In this Shared Hosting mode, the Panel web interface is divided into Server Administration Panel
and Control Panel to let users stay focused on their work: Server Administration Panel is devoted to administrator's and reseller's server and account operations, while Control Panel focuses on the hosting management.
The Power User mode is a logically simple yet technically advanced UI aimed at advanced admins utilizing the Panel for their own needs and not selling hosting. In this mode, admin can focus on managing sites and server, rather than mess with customers and resellers.
The concept of templates has been replaced with a concept of service plans defining resources and services available to a customer in a particular subscription.
New overuse policy - Overuse settings in Panel became more flexible. Now you can let your customers overuse only disk space and traffic resources, while prohibiting overuse of all other types of resources.
Customer and Business Manager 10.0 component (former Parallels Plesk Billing, or ModernBill) enables a full range of business tools fully integrated into the Panel. Business store front, invoicing, online payments and accounting are just a few of the integrated features. Domain registration and SSL certificates are available as well. This solution is no longer released as a standalone application.
Multi-domain hosting - The concept of a domain has been replaced with a concept of a subscription – a hosting unit able to run multiple sites (domains and subdomains) over given resources and services. As the subscriptions belong to customers, the domain administrator role is removed.
Multiple FTP accounts Customer can create multiple FTP accounts within a single subscription.
